1. Freedom to make your own choices. Let’s face it…no one wants to be told what to do. No one wants to do exceptional work to be told “that’s not how I would do it.” No one wants to work 60+ hours a week to get a lousy 3% annual raise. Sound familiar? That’s because we all have these feelings. But you don’t have to experience it anymore. Being an entrepreneur allows you to provide service and expertise in a manner which YOU choose.
2. Flexibility to set your own schedule. Tired of working o-dark thirty to o-dark thirty? Tired of missing those precious moments that your kids experience once in a lifetime? Well this is the number two reason why people start their own businesses. You want to work when you want not when someone else says to work. Becoming an entrepreneur provides that flexibility. You get to decide if you want to work six hours a day for three days a week or five days a week for only four hours a day. It’s your choice.
3. Financial success to show for it all. Working from someone else allows you to be able to provide for your family. But most often you don’t feel a sense of satisfaction. And on top of that you get peanuts for a raise. Not literally but you get the point. Don’t get wrong you can get far with a couple of degrees and 15 plus years of service. But at the end of the day is that really enough? Are you really getting paid what you are worth…for all the contributions and value you have added to that company. Does your job pay you for that? NO! Don’t be scared to say it. We all know it’s true. That’s one of the biggest joys of being an entrepreneur. You not only get to decide how to work and when to work, you get to experience all of the financial benefits too. Other people will pay you for your gift that you are giving back to the world. You will be able to provide a better life for your family. And isn’t that what we all want to do?
